Introducing ILU Burundi

 

The International Leadership University (ILU) is a non-denominational Christian institution founded upon and committed to an Evangelical Statement of Faith.  The Statement of Faith adheres to the historic and orthodox Protestant doctrines which also allows for some latitude in the understanding of these doctrines.

 

It was founded in Bujumbura, Burundi and fully registered as a higher learning institution on December 3, 2010. Its programs were recognized by the Burundi Ministry of National Education and the Scientific Research on January 30, 2013. There are three Schools namely: Theology; Organizational Leadership and Science of Governance; Business Administration both on Bachelors and Masters levels. 

 

Vision:

The Vision of the University is Christ centered leaders, holistically transforming every domain of society.

 

Mission:

The Mission of the University is: To educate and develop Christ-like multiplying leaders of integrity, for holistic transformation in every domain of society in Africa and beyond.

 

Theory of Change:

In order to realize the above Vision and Mission, the University endeavors to maintain a distinct emphasis on a balanced and integrated approach to academic excellence, character formation, field ministry orientation and transformational leadership development.

 

Core Values:

In pursuit of this distinctive philosophy, the University seeks to adhere to the following core values: Integrity, Biblical Stewardship, Contextual Relevance, Empowering Leadership and Excellence.

 

Objectives:

a. Provide Christian higher education and promote research primarily in the areas of theology, Christian discipleship, and spiritual formation, research in contemporary culture, ministry skill development and leadership.

b.   Engage directly or in collaboration with other Christian institutions of learning, in the discovery, transmission and preservation of knowledge for the purpose of stimulating and enhancing the intellectual and spiritual life of Christian believers and Church.

c.    Educate and train students in an academic and spiritual environment that fosters and nurtures Christian spirituality, biblical values, and Godly aspirations.

d.   Equip students with academic and practical Christian ministry skills that enable them to engage in effective propagation of the Gospel, discipleship of Christian believers and to provide leadership in the Church and society in manner that honors God and positively impacts daily life.

 

 

ILU Burundi Ownership

Campus Pour Christ, Burundi, is the owner of the vision and assets of the institution.  ILU Burundi is part of a global consortium of educational institutions known as the International Leadership Consortium (ILC) which facilitates the sharing of resources of the member institutions. These institutions offer practical and effective collaboration, including joint programs and faculty and student exchange. It also has a strong Governing Council, in compliance with the regulations of the Burundi Ministry of National Education and Scientific Research.
